Happily Ever After
We are adding pictures and stories
from people who
have adopted from us. We'd like to dedicate
this NEW page to all the wonderful families who have opened their arms, hearts
and homes to the "Adult Poodles" who came to Picket Fence Poodle Rescue in need
of a "Forever More" home.
In loving memory of "Ruby" from her family, Barb, Craig and Bella....
Our vet came to our home and Ruby laid on Craig's lap while I petted her and talked to her and told her how much we loved her and how special she is. Bella was there too.
"GRACIE" (aka "Valentine") and "VICTOR" came to Picket Fence Poodle Rescue from "PUPS" (Pets Under Police Security). These two Miniature Poodles had
been left behind in a mortgage foreclosure. After a week, neighbors
had contacted the police when it was obvious that the family didn't
take the Poodles with them. "The more I ponder the whole foreclosure "thing," the more I feel our society does not speak out enough about the anguish people who are losing their homes endure... We just hear statistics, about those who default on their payments and therefore have to move out. I think for someone to leave behind his or her dog or dogs indicates the person is in a desperate state of mind, and perhaps can barely provide for himself, let alone his animals. It's the saddest thing I can imagine. My colleagues will often speak about showing houses lost to foreclosure and seeing holes in walls where somebody clearly punched a fist. We've all seen it, myself included." ~Thank you, Bob!~ Pictured below is "Gracie"
in her new home
"ANNIE" the day
"Coast-To-Coast Daschund Rescue" was able to rescue her (both left).
"PRINCES" when she arrived (left) and now she is a real "PRINCESS"!
Here is from "Copper" Hi, just wanted you to know that all is well with THE cutest poodle in the world!! He's been to Bayfield, WI, a couple of times to our cottage there and loves it! He doesn't seem afraid of going down to the water---and that's a LOT of water. He's getting to know our friends and to be good with them. He's quite a watchdog, and has to clear the yard of all elephants and alligators before he'll go off the front deck!! We are
entirely enamored with him and he continues to be very affectionate
with us. Hope all is going well with poodle rescue. We'd
do it again in a minute!! Harriett & Ken
"NEMO" who is now "GINO" enjoying Christmas with his new forever more family!
